Gábor Piukovics

Gábor Piukovics was born in 1978 in Budapest. As a child he lived in Solymár, where the culture - especially dance and music - has a very important role in the life of the community.

In 1990 he won the National Cello Competition in Pest county, and was admitted to István St. High School of Music where he changed his musical instrument and started his career as a bassist.

After graduating from high school he continued his studies at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music Teacher Training Institute, where he was Antal Szentirmai's student. Later he get a master's degree at the conservatory of the University of Debrecen in 2004 as Károly Saru's student. During  his academic years he took part in several classes: Stefan Adelmann (1994, 1995, 1998), Klaus Trumpf (1999, 2000, 2001, 2003), Radoslav Šašina (2001), Miloslav Gajdos (2001), Duka Norbert (2003, 2004). In 2001 he became a professional member of Danube Symphonic Orchestra, where he is a  voice-leader since 2005. He is a member of the MÁV Symphonic Orchestra since 2006.

Due to his symphonic orchestral work, he participated in many guest performances in the following foreign countries: Canada, USA, Brazil, Japan, China, Indonesia, Germany, France, Copenhagen, Switzerland, Italy, Serbia.

Between his orchestral work he is a bass teacher too. His students admitted to numerous prestigious institutions of Europe. He has worked in Szigligeti Theatre in Szolnok, and he is a regular guest artist of Artists' Society, which presented contemporary music and chamber music. He plays on solo and chamber music concerts, and actually he is a member of different bands as bassist and bass guitarist. Since the age of 16 he is playing in bass guitar what he learned by self-taught. He tried almost the most of today's fashionable and popular genres in music.

In 2004 he came into contact with Tango Harmony, and met with the world of Argentine tango and its emotional elements. He loved soon this kind of music style. He is a member of the Tango Harmony, regular performer in the Paris Salon Tango.
